We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Otipemisiwak Métis Government of the Métis Nation within Alberta District 6. Finally, we acknowledge all Nations – Indigenous and non – who live, work and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory. This sacred gathering place provides us with an opportunity to engage in and demonstrate leadership on reconciliation. Thank you for your enthusiasm and commitment to join our team on the lands of Treaty 7 territory.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
We are firm believers in Reduce and Recycle
Reduce: The Screaming Retriever Brewing Company looks to source local ingredients wherever possible, reducing the carbon footprint of goods being shipped for brewing. SRBC uses Alberta grains and water from the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. Most hops are sourced from the Yakima Valley in Washington State which is the closest major hop producing region to Southern Alberta. Local alternatives will be pursued when applicable.
Reduce, Recycle: Cardboard packaging offers a sustainable solution to reduce plastic waste, with the potential to cut household plastic waste by almost half a kilo. Our switch to cardboard packaging minimizes the beer industry’s environmental footprint by offering a recyclable and compostable alternative to plastic, which takes centuries to decompose.
Reduce: We are actively lobbying the AGLC/Connect Logistics to build a Southern Alberta Warehouse facility to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Under current regulations, our product must be shipped to the Connect Logistics Warehouse in St. Albert for distribution. Currently, this is the only distribution warehouse that AGLC/ Connect Logistics has for the entire province of Alberta.
